Welcome
The International Centre for HACCP Innovation (I.C.H.I)
is a research and education unit of the University of Salford. The
Centre contains the largest collection of HACCP practitioners and
academics in Europe and works closely with national and international
regulators and non-govermental organizations.
The Centre’s focus is on developing appropriate methodologies
for the successful implementation of HACCP in the food industry;
in providing the underpinning research evidence for policy formation
and legislation; and in training and educating HACCP specialists
to become leading members of the food safety community.
The Centre was the first to offer the postgraduate web based distance-learning
Pg Cert / Dip / MSc in Hazard
Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) in Europe. The first
cohort began in March 2002, and there is now more than 150 students
around the world on the course.
In Sept 04, the centre introduced another innovative new course,
Pg Cert HACCP for Catering.
It introduces students to HACCP principles, their specific application in catering, how
to facilitate change and also the underpinning science behind HACCP.
Further to the open programme, there is a corporate program
available to those organisations with ten or more students
who wish to take the course 'in-house'.
